Overview

Explore the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its growing impact on nursing. This session will review the definition and benefits of AI, highlight tools and strategies for integrating AI into nursing curricula, and examine the role of professional organizations—such as KNA, ANA, and KBN—in shaping AI’s future in healthcare. Attendees will also gain insight into how local and state policymakers influence AI implementation in nursing education and practice.

Necholyia “Nicky” Wright DNP, MSN, BSN, RN

Orthopedic Program Coordinator at Baptist Health Louisville

Necholyia “Nicky” Wright is an Orthopedic Program Coordinator at Baptist Health Louisville who also serves as the Research & Evidence-Based Council co-chair and is a member of the Nursing Research Oversight Team. Nicky is also involved with Kentucky Nurses Association in various roles such as COVID vaccination and testing team leader and is the KNA Continuing Education Administrator. She has a doctor of nursing leadership from Chamberlain College of Nursing; both a master of science degree and bachelor of science from Indiana Wesleyan University; an associate degree from Galen College of Nursing; and she also worked as an LPN for 17 years.
